These images, known as mammograms, help to screen for breast cancer and other breast-related conditions. Mammography Technicians are trained to perform the procedure, ensure patient comfort, maintain a high standard of image quality, and assist in patient care throughout the process.

  Performing Mammograms:

  • Position and prepare patients for mammography exams, ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned.
    
  • Operate mammography equipment to capture clear, accurate images of the breast tissue.
    
  • Ensure proper compression of the breast during imaging to obtain the best possible images while minimizing discomfort for the patient.
    
  • Assist patients with undressing and putting on a gown, as well as positioning the breast for imaging.
    
  • Perform digital mammograms and, if necessary, additional views to obtain complete images of the breast.
    
    
    
  • 
    Patient Care and Comfort:
    
    • 
      
    • Greet patients and explain the procedure, answering any questions to alleviate anxiety.
      
    • Educate patients on the importance of mammograms, helping them understand the process and ensuring they know what to expect.
      
    • Reassure patients during the exam, maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor.
      
    • Monitor patients for discomfort or any issues during the procedure and adjust accordingly.

      Quality Control and Image Evaluation:

      • Review mammograms for clarity and completeness, ensuring the images meet diagnostic standards.
