Join this high impact team as a Principal Network Engineer (P3) to
ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at
our Raytheon/RTX locations. The installation, maintenance, support,
and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed.
Candidate must have advanced background supporting networks and
have an active US Secret Security Clearance to be considered. This
role is in Tucson, AZ, and the role will be onsite at our
facilities there, to work in classified computing areas. This role
is in SAP areas. This role is relocation eligible if the selected
applicant meets company policy criteria. - What you will Do:
- Focuses on Inter-team communication and organization of clear
documentation of network details to support and enable smooth
project growth.
- We ideally need someone with Cisco ISE experience with 802.1X,
SolarWinds, and setting up client server environments for
government networks.
- Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans,
evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or
reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or
voice communication network
- Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data
networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing,
such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers,
encryptors etc.
- Maintains network management software platforms.
- Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications
requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring
such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future
requirements factoring in redundancy and required network
uptime.
- Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation
exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and
other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new
documentation will be created.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding
short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network
equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
- Network designs that include selection of hardware and software
packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical
limitations.
- Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in
tactical environments.
- Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical
team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Willingness and availability to work outside normal business
hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
- Must be able to work with general supervision and follow
established procedures.
- We will have you obtain Certifications in Security+ within 6
months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year
of starting. What you will Learn:
- You will apply your Network Engineering skills to
defense-oriented programs.
- Obtain Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco
Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year. Raytheon will
provide resources to have you attend the training classes.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a bachelor's degree with 5 years' relevant
experience in Network Engineering/Technology roles, a master's
degree with 3 years' experience, or Associates with 7 years'
experience. In lieu of degree, 9 years of relevant experience in
IT/Network Engineering will be considered.
- Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco
routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems,
including software upgrades.
- Active and transferable (In Scope) U.S. government issued
security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S.
citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a
security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer:
- We ideally need someone with Cisco ISE experience with 802.1X,
SolarWinds, and setting up client server environments for
government networks.
- Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
- Experience with access control list, security posture, and
vendor best practices.
- Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
- 1-2 years of experience with network management software.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically as
needed.
- Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption
devices.
- Effective customer service skills, including oral and written
communications.
- Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers,
GemOne, and SolarWinds.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and
network refreshes
- Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance - Special
