world. Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our
products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. -
Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that
support engineering, our program offices and our customers. - Our
Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life
cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. - Our focus
area is product support, including the following disciplines: -
Reliability System Safety and Supportability.
What You Will Do:
Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a Section Lead to join our
existing leadership team and provide functional and discipline
leadership and guidance to a section of Sustainment CPT and
Sustainment IPT leaders. - This section of leaders consist of 17 -
CPTLs and IPTLs responsible for the planning and execution of LCE
Scope on various Naval Power programs. Your team's focus will be
proactive design interface, analysis, documentation and planning to
enable effective operation, maintenance and support in optimizing
economical ownership of our systems. - In addition you'll be
expected to perform Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and/or
Reliability Engineering efforts as required. In this role, you'll
leverage your background and past experience (preferably as a
current or prior IPTL/CPTL) to assist your team members with their
day-to-day issues managing their Sustainment IPT or CPT on their
particular Naval Power program. - Some of these activities
include:
- Reviewing contractual statement of works, determining
sustainment approaches and offerings, generating BOEs for those
offerings, and creating proposal packages
- Guiding these proposal packages through comprehensive program
leadership and functional leadership review and approval
processes
- Developing and validating quarterly EAC positions for LCE tasks
and scope based on historical size and productivity actuals
- Providing sustainment architecture guidance and developing
plans to meet ILS and Reliability CDRLs
- Interfacing with a matrix organization internally (eg
Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts, EXIM, and other Engineering
disciplines)
- Interfacing with a matrix organization externally (eg NAVSEA,
NAVSUP, MDA, and other customer organizations)
- Develop monthly program review materials and brief to
leadership (eg sustainment maturity level assessments)
- In addition, as a Section Lead you'll manage the Section's
budgeting, manpower planning and project cost account management
using Earned Value Management System (EVMS), cost proposal
development and Estimate At Completion (EAC) analysis. - Additional
responsibilities will include the following employee-focused areas:
- Employee performance development and assessment
- Ensure quality and timeliness of work products produced within
the section
- Employee growth, productivity improvement, and recognition
- Personnel issue resolution
- Ensuring compliance with company policies/procedures
- Ensuring all personnel are properly prepared and trained for
the scope of their tasks and leveraging best practices across all
programs This job can require up to 10% travel. This job is posted
as ONSITE, and is based out of Tucson, Arizona. Qualifications You
Must Have:
- Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10
years of relevant IPT or CPT experience or Supply and Maintenance
Engineering, Facilities Engineering or relevant General Engineering
experience in a military or civilian environment. - An advanced
degree may account for additional years of experience as required
for this position.
- Experience managing budgets or using the Earned Value
Management System (EVMS)
- Leadership experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued
Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is
required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security
clearance Qualifications We Prefer: - - -
- Experience with program Technical Data Package (drawings, parts
lists and electrical schematics), Change Notices/Engineering Change
Proposals, technical manuals and tool catalogs.
- Experience creating and implementing metrics-based execution
plans -
- Ability to develop briefings and present to audiences up to 100
persons on system status and maintenance plans
- Proposal experience - Performed as technical lead for a
contract capture using the
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability
to take initiative in working on multiple projects with resources
from multiple sources
- Certified Professional Logistician (CPL)

#LI-ONSITE The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000
USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several
factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the
